Elizabeth Jane Hurley (born Elizabeth Jane Hurley) is an English model, actress and former Hugh Grant girlfriend. She gained fame in the mid 1990s. The time that Grant was the center of media attention because of his global box-office success in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Hurley accompanied Grant in the black plunged Versace gown that was held in place with silver safety pins. Her appearance gained immediate media exposure. Hurley's relationship in the company of Estee Lauder, a cosmetics maker, has been seen as a high point in her professional career. Hurley received her first modeling contract at age of 29 and has used her model for Estee Lauder's products from 1995. Vanessa Kensington is her best known role from The Mike Myers spy comedies International Man of Mystery (1997) and Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me, both of which were huge hits. Hurley is now a model and the designer for the Beachwear Line. Perry's initial efforts at success in mainstream music failed, two different record labels signing her and subsequently dropping her before the release of any music. In 2007 however Capitol Records put out Perry's EP Ur So Gay which attracted little attention due to its jolly flippant title track. I Kissed a Girl, a confident song about her sexual inclinations that is set to a gritty electronic-pop beat, gained a greater splash several months after. Some critics accused the song as a sly reference to homosexuality however others suggested that its racy depiction was intended to attract male fantasies. But the mixture of polished and titillating melody helped I Kissed a Girl become an instant hit in a variety of countries and drove sales for her album One of the Boys (2008). Its bouncy, sharp-tongued and bouncy second single Hot N Cold also proving popular the album much of that Perry wrote herself eventually registered greater than 3 million copies across the United States.
